Starting with the RIS
How can you get started with the RIS and how do we support you?
Access to the RIS
To log in to the RIS, you need your user ID (B-identifier) and the corresponding password. The link to the FIS is: https://uhh.de/fdm-fis
All academics can register directly in RIS. Employees of the administration, secretariats, libraries, etc., please contact the RIS team at the following e-mail address fis"AT"uni-hamburg.de with the following information: B-identifier, first and last name, e-mail address, name of the organizational unit in which you are employed (e.g. professorship, faculty, department or similar), expected end of employment. We will then use this data to set up access to the RIS for you at short notice.
Training for RIS
We offer regular training sessions on the basic application of 'entering publications'.
We are happy to provide training for other uses of the RIS (e.g. reporting third-party funding, creating reports, etc.) or more in-depth questions about importing publications by arrangement. Please contact us and we will arrange a suitable date for you.
Note for employees of the WiSo and BWL faculties: The library of the WiSo and BWL faculties also offers RIS training courses. These essentially correspond to the content of the RIS training offered by the RIS team. You can find more information on the training courses offered by the WiSo and BWL library at https://www.wiso.uni-hamburg.de/bibliothek/service/fuer-lehrpersonal/fis.html
Support for the initial import of data
Have you already collected publications and other information, e.g. as a list on a website, in another database or in another RIS? This data can be imported into the RIS. Please contact us and we will support you.
Use of the data entered in the RIS
The data entered and released in RIS is automatically displayed in the publicly accessible RIS portal. You can integrate RIS boxes on your personal website so that your publication, project and activity lists are automatically created from the RIS. You can find a description on the FAQ page under “How can I use my data on websites, for example?”.
Manuals and Documentation
The RIS and the RIS portal contain links to manuals (FIS instructions) in German and English, which are constantly being expanded. A Lecture2Go channel with video tutorials on the RIS is currently under construction. Furthermore, extensive tutorials and documentation in English are available from the software manufacturer Elsevier, which are linked in the RIS in the “Help and Support” area.
Contact and support
We are of course always available to answer your questions and support you. Please feel free to contact us by e-mail or telephone.
